You can now export your captions as an SRT (SubRip Subtitle) file directly from SignCaption.

SRT files are one of the most widely supported subtitle formats and can be used with video editing software, video hosting platforms, learning management systems, and other accessibility tools.

An SRT file is a subtitle file that contains:

- Caption text
- Start and end timestamps
- Subtitle sequence numbers

SRT files do not contain video content. Instead, they can be uploaded alongside a video to display captions on supported platforms.

Select SRT File from the download options.

The SRT file will download to your device.

1. Open your completed SignCaption project.
2. Review and edit your captions as needed.
3. Click Download.
4. Select SRT File from the download options.
5. The SRT file will download to your device.

Your SRT file is now ready to be uploaded to supported platforms or imported into your preferred video editing software.

YouTube supports SRT subtitle uploads, allowing viewers to turn captions on and off while watching your video.

SRT files can be imported into many editing platforms, including:

- Adobe Premiere Pro
- Final Cut Pro
- DaVinci Resolve
- CapCut

Use with Training and Educational Content

Many learning management systems (LMS) support SRT files for accessibility compliance and improved learner experience.

Does the SRT file include my video?

No. SRT files only contain subtitle text and timing information. Your video file is downloaded separately.

Can I edit my captions before exporting?

Yes. We recommend reviewing and editing your captions before exporting to ensure the highest level of accuracy.

Can I use the same SRT file on multiple platforms?

Yes. Once downloaded, your SRT file can be uploaded or imported into any platform that supports the SRT format.

What if my captions need changes after exporting?

Simply return to your project, make the necessary edits, and export a new SRT file.
